2009 HOMEOWNERSHIP SUMMIT TO EDUCATE CONSUMERS, INDUSTRY ON CURRENT GEORGIA HOUSING MARKET ISSUES AND OPPORTUNITIES, JUNE 6
ATLANTA – In celebration of June as National Homeownership Month, the Georgia Housing Summit Alliance will once again host a free educational event for consumers and industry professionals regarding the issues – and opportunities – of the current Georgia housing market.
The free event, which will be Saturday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cobb Galleria, is hosted by the Georgia Housing Summit Alliance -- a partnership between the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), FHA, state and local governments, local housing authorities, non-profits organizations, and industry-related associations and professionals that aims to help promote and preserve homeownership through ongoing education assistance and resource tools.
The 2009 Summit will feature panel discussions by high-level industry and government leaders for industry professionals, as well as educational breakout sessions for consumers. Featured discussions and educational seminars will include topics related to down payment assistance programs, financing options, homeownership opportunities and incentives, the Neighborhood Stabilization Program, foreclosure prevention, and information regarding recovery from a financial crisis or foreclosure.
The daylong event will also feature will be resource tables from participating partners and onsite HUD-approved counselors.
