V-103 is giving you Sunday Morning Inspiration with Larry Tinsley every Sunday morning from 6am to Noon.
Larry Tinsley was born in Decaturville, Tennessee on February 14th. At the age of five, he moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. In 1966, Larry received his diploma from riverside high school in Parsons, Tennessee, and four years later received his Bachelor of Science degree from Lambuth University in Jackson, Tennessee.
Upon graduation, Larry returned to Knoxville, where he worked as on-air announcer for WJBE radio which was owned by legendary soul singer James Brown.
In June of 1971, he received and accepted an offer to work as an on-air announcer for WAOK in Atlanta. In 1981, he was elevated to the position of program director. During his tenure, WAOK achieved great ratings success.
Today, he serves as host of "Sunday Morning Praise," heard each Sunday morning on V-103 and WAOK Atlanta.
Because Larry is regarded as one of America's top gospel announcers, he received the coveted Stellar Award as "Gospel Announcer of the Year" in 1997.
He is married with two children and attends New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia, where Bishop Eddie Long serves as pastor.
Larry is a devoted Christian who lives each day according to the word of God and the Holy Spirt that dwells within him.
